Her Grandmother Got the Coronavirus. Then So Did the Whole Family.

By Jane Lee

Amy Quinn for The New York Times Sunday reported a story of a young woman who lives in Wuhan, China.

Her lede is not the formal form of hard news lede, but it is more effective. It still includes information on who and where. It is descriptive and imaginable how the coronavirus outbreak emotionally affected her and her family.

The second and third paragraphs are nut graphs which give more details and background information. These explain more information about Bella Zhang and the current situation in Wuhan.

As including a supporting quote, “But wait until when? We’ve already lost one,” said Ms. Zhang’s mother, Yang Ling, in the following paragraph, it shows the frustration they are suffering there and ties the readers to the story more effectively.
