Barr Installs Outside Prosecutor to Review Case Against Michael Flynn, Ex-Trump Adviser

The New York Times Friday reported that Attorney General William P. Barr hired an outside prosecutor to conduct a review into decisions made by attorneys at the U.S Department of Justice who were handling President Trump's former national security advisor Michael T. Flynn's case.
The people familiar this matter said that Barr also brought in outside prosecutors to review other politically sensitive national security matters-involving Trump's friends and allies, and they investigated line prosecutors in the Washington office about what steps they took and why they took them during the last two weeks, according to The New York Times.
The New York Times reported that after a jury found Roger Stone Jr., Trump's close adviser, guilty of witness intimidation and several false statements Tuesday, Barr overrode the sentencing recommendation by Trump which insisted lower than seven to nine years in prison.
Trump complained about the sentence and four line prosecutors quit the case, according to The New York Times.
Barr publically asked Trump to stop commenting on the Justice Department during the interview on Thursday, The New York Times reported.
