Cancun club shooting leaves 5 dead, 5 wounded, authorities say

Four gunmen fired shots inside a club on Saturday in Cancun, Mexico, and at least five people were dead, according to authorities, Fox News reported

They aimed one long gun and three handguns inside La Kuka, a club located near the main avenue in central Cancun, Quintana Roo state prosecutors said. It leaves five dead and two of five wounded are in critical condition on Sunday.

Star Tribune reported Mexico murder rate breaks the record with over 33,000 cases opened in 2018. Cancun and Quintaroo recorded almost twice the number of people killed in 2018, compared to the record of 2017.

"774 people killed in the state last year, compared to the recorded 359 killings in 2017," according to federal authorities reporting.
